The Scruffy Stallion: Part 9

Dear Journal,


I got my cutie mark today, journal. I can't believe it. But there it is. It's a drill. I'll tell you how it happened.


               I met up with Bro today. He keeps telling me to call him "bro", so I tried it today and it felt right. He showed me these super big cannons he built out of his chimney. It's amazing. He told me to get in and fly. I was hesitant at first, but I managed to get in as he lit the fuse. He shot me out of it, like a firework. But then…He shot out after me. He's an earth pony. It was extremely dangerous, but he didn't care. He shot up next to me and grabbed ahold of me. He told me to spin. Spin my troubles away. I did a barrel roll. He told me to do another. Spin away the sadness and fear and regret that I had building up inside. So I began to spin. Faster and faster. The air around me seemed to turn red as I spun. I even hit a wall, but the air and heat I had built up with my massive amount of spinning drilled a hole through the rock itself. When I came out of the other side of the wall, I had my cutie mark. It was amazing.


              Seabreeze even saw it. She gave me this big kiss and called me "Spin". She says that's her pet name for me. She took me into town to be with some friends. To you that could sound boring, but for me it was like a moon landing. I met some new friends today as well. I met a pony named Clumsy Waffle. She said she used to be a stallion, but got changed by magic. I didn't know that could have been permanent. She has a blue mane and blue fur, and even sea blue eyes. She turns into a cat when she goes to sleep. She's really weird. She tried to call me Spin, and Seabreeze looked like she would have demolished her. I then met back up with Smoky Blues. He congratulated me a million times, of course. I then met a spider. That's right, a spider. Her name is Torlacia. She can't talk, but Clumsy Waffle can talk to her.


               I'm sorry about that pause, journal…I just…Had to think of some things. Journal…Do I deserve this? Do I deserve to be with Seabreeze? Probably not. I don't deserve this life, you know that. I should still be on the road. I should still have a coat full of dust. I should still have a tattered vest. I should still have a broken wing. I may just leave. I don't think a great mare like Seabreeze deserves a dumb bum stallion like me.


               I'm not going to call myself Spin. I don't deserve a name.
